Skills

ITAV is part of a not-for-profit Research & Technology Development Group with over 10 years of experience and knowledge of managing European funded projects employing 550 scientist and engineers, and containing nine individual institutes, each with a specific technological specialise and competence. The majority of the research of ITAV is working with both hi- and low-tech SMEs, either helping the high-tech SMEs get their products and processes to market, or assisting low-tech SMEs differentiate themselves and their products, often in traditional highly competitive markets, through applying novel materials. Their polymer capability spans both product and process development, with core skills focussed on the development of polymer processing technique, which can be applied to enhancing the value of polymer based products.

Role in the Project

ITAV will bring a high level of professional research management to ensure that the core research and technology aspects of the project can be achieved on time and to budget. It will be responsible for ensuring that all deadlines on reporting, financial management etc. are met. In the RTD activities, ITAV will bring its experience and skills in extrusion by complementing ELASTORSA on the tasks to be carried out in WP2, the processing of un-vulcanized rubber.
